Invaders 17

Invaders 17 cover

The last we saw of the Invaders they had been captured by the Germans and have come face-to-face with Adolf Hitler himself. Although the Invaders have had no problem talking to other Germans in English before, Hitler is too well known as a non-Engish speaker so Roy Thomas brings the departed Brain Drain into play.

As for the other mysteries from last issue, namely, why is Master Man more powerful than ever and why is he even here? He explains it himself.

So many questions from last issue. Here's another one: Did the Nazi's really kidnap the comicbook writer and artist Biljo White because he might know something about the secret soldier serum. Answer: as can be seen below, is 'yes'.

As for Biljo White, where is he? Well he's being interrogated by the same woman spy he was with last issue.

That's the secod time somebody got wacked with a comicbook in this issue. Bilbo tells the Germans that he knows nothing about the super-soldier serum and that he is just a comicbook creative. That is his line until Madame Ratzel places him under hynosis. Then this . . .

Madame Ratzel manages to get enough information for her to try to recreate the serum.

Midway through her process Madame Ratzel gets interruped and matters quickly escalate to violent levels.

This chaos results in the birth of Warrior Woman. I'm kind of partal to the German version: Krieger Frau.

Let's go back to our captured heroes. Namor manages to swing his "cage" and smash the water containers holding the Torches.

With the Torches free they manage to catch up to Hitler. Master Man moves to defend against Sub-Mariner.

As the skirmish plays out the Invaders are seconds away from capturing Hitler himself!

The Fuhrer even surrenders but something stops the Torches.

Someone.

Warrior Woman handles the Torches after dousing their fire.

After slapping Bucky aside she throws Captain America from a height.

Then both she and Master Man take on Namor.

We end the issue the way we began it, with the Invaders in utter defeat before the Nazis. Oh where o where is Spitfire?
