The issue begins with a sexy - dangerously sexy - panel of Kendra/Hawkgirl.

He is with Khalid, the reluctant discover and weilder of the helmet of Nabu - and therefore Doctor Fate.

The attention grabbing thing here though is Kendra's aresenal. Here she is home testing her bazooka!

Jay Garrick, the Flash, visits his mom. She informs him that the military is looking for him. Then suddenly, it's action time! Or is the better term "Atom time".

The Flash goes up against the Atom.

But the Sandman, the other G-man, holds Jay's Mom hostage.

Distracted, the Flash gets taken out.

No one is paying attention to Khalid, which is good - he is able to take out the Sandman.

It's enough of an opening for the Flash to get everyone away.

To the surprise of all, Flash and company don't simply move away, they disappear.

They materialize in a place with a very somber, attractively somber, aspect.

And they encounter Wotan.
